ATEM Television Studio - Use Keyboard for Switching

I just purchased an ATEM Television Studio and the numerical keys on the Apple Keyboard only seem to make cuts in the preview monitor rather than the program monitor. How can I set the Software Control Panel to allow the keyboard to make cuts in the program monitor? Is there a webpage that goes over all of the keyboard shortcuts for the Software Control Panel?

Thanks,

Mike

Pretty sure the short-cuts are in the manual. I think to hot-switch on program, you hold down the shift key and press whatever number. I think "Enter" cuts between Preview and Program.

Looks like the OSX global hotkeys are overriding the ATEM ones

Yes, press and hold the shift key and you'll see the CUT button turn red, then you can hot cut inputs with the number keys.

Hi Mike,

Pressing Number 1-8 on the keyboard will allow you to cut your intended inputs on Preview. To Hot Cut or Cut on Program, you have to press CTRL, where you will see 'CUT' lit red. Then you are able to press Number 1-8 to cut on air. Shift will only work if you are using an ATEM 2 switcher in a 1M/E View to view your shift level input sources.

Pressing Spacebar will allow you to CUT from source to source and the Enter button is for Auto Transition.

Alternatively, you may find these information in the manual, page 61-63.

Hi,

Currently, the keyboard short cuts are limited to only INPUTS. There are no shortcuts for selecting Media Player. You'll have to use a mouse to perform that task.

Or JustMacros lets you assign any combination of key strokes to any ATEM function or groups of functions.

Hello, I currently own ATEM Television Studio and would like to know, what is a good software to run LIVE transmission? this is for a church so we can put services online. Also, Can you send live transmission and record at the same time?

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

No you do not need XKeys, there is a feature called Global-Keystroke-Mappings, this hooks the system wide Windows KEYBOARD_MESSAGES, such that JustMacros sees any keystroke in any application (kinda like a keystroke logger virus), and thus you can then attach a script (sequence of ATEM Commands), and from whatever application you are in, CTRL-ALT-R might reload stills to the media store, or Ctrl-SH1FT-F1 might setup a USK snapshot - it's really up to you. There are JM commands for everything except "SetLongName" which generates an error, and there are few issues with Clip uploads (that are being sorted), but other than that, Any-Key (Ctrl, Alt and Shift modifiers) to any ATEM function or sequence there of.

Is there any good reason for this. Other than encouraging people to buy a panel for 6 grand?

Get an XKeys panel and never look back. For small form factor, I like the XK-16 with 1RU rack mount. You can either use the built in Macro software or pair it with JustMacros to put the world at your fingertips.... :)
