ATEM title generation

PostTue Sep 04, 2012 4:53 pm

Hi,
We are looking for ATEM 2 M/E as main production switcher and i have question about title generation. "ATEM also supports rendered stills and clip sequences from Photoshop, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and many more!" we are using Shockwave flash (SWF), i know that it's sounds pretty weird, but it is. Can somebody answer me can we use it with ATEM 2 M/E or test it. Becouse graphics systems is realy expensive and we are and we are satisfied with our swf graphics.

SWF for test in attachment.

Thanks!

Hi,
SWF's are not (maybe not yet) possible to use within the ATEM switcher. According to the Tech Specs the following still formats are possible: PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG and TIFF. The clips are using TGA sequences, you can use it together with WAV, MP3 or AIFF audio files.

Maybe BM is thinking about adding SWF support in an upcoming version of it's soft-/firmware. I'd definitely vote for it ;)

It will need an outside player. Many of us like CasparCG.

You will need to set your stage for your switcher's resolution. (ie:1280x720)

Indeed, if you're already familiar with SWF then CasparCG is an amazing tool and incredibly powerful. We used it with a Decklink Extreme 3D which allowed us to output a fill and key signal to the ATEM 1M/E so the graphics could be easily keyed over vision (although this requires two inputs on the switcher)

Which capture card you can recommend for using with CasparCG + ATEM 2 M/E?
Thanks!

We used the Decklink Extreme 3D I think. Worked well, but CasparCG have their own forum where people know more about this stuff...
