This is a "spin-off" from the topic "Hyperdeck Studio Prores workflow". My question doesn't match the theme, and I got no response till now.

I recorded 1080i /25 FPS signal with one AJA Kipro and a BMD Hyperdeck. Both with apple Prores. The Media Info of the Kipro File shows the expected values.

114 Mbps 1920*1080 (16:9) at 25,000 FPS, ProRes (Version 0)

But the Mediainfo from the Hyperdeck shows

183 Mbps, 1888*1062 at 25.000 FPS ProRes (Version 0) (High)

OK the bitrate is higer (is this really needed ? ), but why the BMDs file has not the expected Resolution ?

What are you using to get the info? Quicktime Pro? There's a presentation setting that might not be set on that clip which will clip (though it doesn't clip data, just for presentation) that will cause the resolutions to look weird. I assure you those files are 1920x1080.

As for the bit rate differences we're capturing as HQ. I believe you can chose different quality levels on the KiPro.

It's most likely just display trimming. This only happens on the Mac, but it likes to trim off whatever it doesn't feel it needs, but this setting is set per file (though there is structurally nothing wrong with the file). Put it in media Express or into Premiere, or FinalCut..look at the properties there. It will come back at 1920x1080.
