I'm working on building a video presentation rack, something I can make that's portable. I'm thinking the ATEM 1 M/E Production Switcher.
The question I have is if I have say for example on the HDMI Inputs - DVD Player, Computer, Media Server then on the SDI/HDSDI I have some Cameras, will the ATEM 1 automatically match resolutions for my output? I'd like to both record the video along with broadcasting the program out to different projectors or displays.

The manual (free PDF copy available online) states that the ATEM switcher inputs do NOT do standards conversion. All the inputs must be the same standard and the same resolution.

Indeed, they do all need to be the same input format. This can be a little tricky with HDMI devices in some cases.
FWIW I found the Apacer AL460 Media Player works perfectly with the ATEM 1M/E in 1080i50 mode at least.

Do any of the blackmagic products do so or is that part of why the cost is low. Anyone have recommendations for a live switcher that could do so?

Yes, there is something out there, but its a competitors product, is about 10 times the cost of a 1/ME, only has one DVI for computer input, and loses one of the the ATEM's key feature of having an internal media player for graphics.
All in all I cant recommend it as a viable alternative. If you absolutely have to use a different resolution, I would suggest getting the up/down/cross mini converter (can we have a HDMI/HDSDI in/out scaler pretty please BMD?) for just the channels you need.
