Bitfocus Companion set up help

While I'm researching ways to improve my set up I've learned of Companion. I use the ATEM 1 M/E and picked up a Elgato Stream Deck. I'm actually having a little bit of trouble figure out how to get started. Github and Slack confuse me a bit. I'm not having much luck finding a manual or tutorials. Does anyone have a decent resource for learning how to set up a Stream Deck with Companion?

Streamdeck is great hardware .. But for controlling ATEM , it missing some faders and controllers ..

Im using Behringer Xtouch mini (cost about 35 EUR) .. And it have fader and rotary knobs .. Ideal for ATEM controlling .. Look at this video :

Wow. That's really cool. I love the scaling and position function you worked out. Impressive. I opted for the Stream Deck because it could display custom images and text. Thankfully I don't generally use the fade bar in my workflows. I'm most interested in programming macros onto buttons. Plus I already got my boss to buy the Stream Deck. :) After working for hours yesterday I overcame some hurdles with Companion and have made some progress. Still working on it.

edit: By the way I notice the latest release on the website is v1.3.0 but it looks like there are builds into the v2.0.0. I think I will try a newer version and see if that helps me.

Yes .. Custom Images and texts are really great .. I have here Streamdeck .. And I was ordered XL version too .. Its great HW .. Im not using Tbar too much .. But Im missing another feature in Companion now .. U cant select Image in media player .. ON Xtouch i have mapped images on last two rotary controllers .. So U can select image with it .. Companion have not function to select images .. SO u cannot do it right now .. I hope it will be implemented in future ..

V 2.0 is only ALPHA version .. And not support ATEM now .. Hmm .. Maybe ..

Latest stable version is 1.4 release candidate :

Yes I download the 2.0 and there were enough warnings that I reverted back to 1.3. I couldn't find 1.4 so thanks for that link.

Could you make a macro to select images in media player and then map that to stream deck?

I like the video Roman, It looks like the Behringer Xtouch mini would fix a problem I'm seeing when I use my Xkeys to move a bug around on screen. Is it difficult to map the X, Y, and scale functions to the rotary dials? I may just get one of these to try to use along with my Just Macros setup. I wonder if you could use both systems Just Macros and Xtouch at the same time. thanks e

YEs .. That is workaround .. Create Macro 1 , whitch select IMAGE 1 in MP1 .. Macro 2 , Image 2 -> MP2 ... etc .. and after that U can map macros to buttons .. Yes it will be work .. But + and - will be great .. To change images in MP .. I hope it will come sometime to Companion ..

Yes .. I have Xkeyes with another rack with old ATEM TVS .. In new rack with ATEM HD I have Xtouch mini .. Both racks have small Intel NUC with Just Macros .. Xtouch is only MIDI controler .. Sending MIDI data and Just macros is reading/sending it and transfer another data to ATEM .. Its basicaly the same like Xkeys .. U can use it both .. It depends , how U program just macro scripts ..
