Mini hdmi ATS

Anyone have a working mini hdmi to hdmi cable for the ATS? Well, I technically have one, but check this out.

Canon m40 > mini hdmi to hdmi cable > ATS = works

Canon m40 > SAME mini hdmi to hdmi cable > hdmi to sdi mini converter > sdi cable > ATS = does NOT work

It doesnt seem to be the sdi cable or converter, both give the ATS a working signal with a totally different camera. Granted, the second camera is full sized hdmi port.

For whatever reason, the ats just doesn't like the signal. The mini converter seems to get a signal as the lights inside of it light up. If no-one has a solution, do they have a recommendation for a hdmi repeater or extender that works with the ats? Again, keep the mini hdmi to hdmi in mind. I might end up switching to altogether different camera company at this point. :/

Umm... what is an ATS? Do you mean the ATEM TVS?

OK. Thanks for the clarification. Never heard it called that before.

Have you reported the issue to BMD support?

By the way I have the HDMI->SDI Mini converter and have used it with a variety of devices. I have not yet found a situation like what you described where something capable of connecting directly to the TVS is unable to connect via the mini converter.

EDIT: But it sounds similar to issues others have reported in other forums where the problem may stem from the EDID. I recall some having success by using an EDID emulator between the device and the mini converter. Seems a tad big complicated to me though.

Have you tried updating the firmware on the mini-converter?

Yep, updated the atem and the mini to latest and greatest. I'll try to call up support and see what they say though.
