Decklink Mini Recorder Issue

Hello! I was hoping someone much smarter than me can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I have a very simple setup at our church where we have a PC that has a BMD Decklink Mini Recorder which is taking input from a Canon Vixia G20 camera via HDMI. We use this capture with OBS to broadcast to Facebook Live for shut-ins, etc. This PC also outputs to two projectors via VGA. We have a conference once a year and I would like to display the camera on our two projectors for those that sit towards the back of our auditorium but have noticed that there is a slight delay that is distracting. Bypassing the PC so that the camera goes directly to the projectors fixes this issue. So, I thought maybe I could split the camera's HDMI signal with a 1 x 2 HDMI splitter so that it continues to go to the PC as normal and we can stream as normal, but the other could go directly to the projectors and we could control what displays in the auditorium separately. It's not an ideal setup as I'd like something that can fade changing inputs, but don't have much of a budget. Going directly to the projectors works fine, no lag, but I get nothing on the Mini Recorder. What might be causing this? Is it an HDCP issue? Is there a better way to do this that I have no idea what it is?

Thanks for your advice and help!
