Anyone shed light on how to upload graphics to the media bins from inhouse software?

C++ preferred.

Will NOT be using Adobe Photoshop.

I'm looking into using PixelMator for a Photoshop replacement and it would be nice to get a Photoshop plugin like add-on.

I have thought about calling the official Photoshop plugin released from BMD but would rather
have an API to integrate into our code.
