Do the BMD HDMI-SDI and SDI-HDMI pass along the audio

It is not clear as I read the spec's if the converters pass along the audio that is embedded from the originating format or do they allow for the audio to be embedded externally via the connectors and if so does it replace the existing audio or ?? OR are those connectors only OUTPUTS for the already embedded audio?

The answer is yes to both parts of the question.

HDMI-SDI it will take either 2 channels of audio from HDMI and embed it to SDI or take the VIDEO from HDMI and 2 channels of AES or Balanced Analog audio and embed it to SDI.

SDI - HDMI will de-embed two channels from SDI and put it on HDMI AND AES or Balanced Analog.
