Single Frame Recording

PostMon Dec 16, 2013 5:03 am

Please add single frame recording to the BMCC software. It seems that there are several uses for this relatively basic enhancement such as stop frame animation, film scanning, speed ramping, hand cranking, etc.

I'm buying the beers for the coder that adds this feature.

It's not an ideal solution, but when shooting raw, just go into Menu and set your Timelapse Interval to 10 minutes, then simply press record to capture a raw dng frame, and press it again to stop it from taking another one 10 minutes later.

Then just open the dng frame in Photoshop and you're in business, assuming you only need a ~2 megapixel photo..

This would put each frame in individual folders…

I agree, this should be added. My bolex from the 70s can do this.

Yes it's totally ridiculous. My iphone can take single pictures.

It should also have speech recognition so I can say "Blackmagic... single frame".

Hence, it not being an ideal solution, but it does get you a still image.
