Follow up for anyone experiencing a similar issue. Prior to patching input/output, I could not hear sound. Now it works most of the time. When it does not work, I need to go back to the Davinci Resolve menu > Preferences > Vide and Audio I/O

My fix is to toggle between the output device either the system device or my speakers. If the system does not work, Samsung speakers will. If Samsung speakers don't work, the System device will.
My system speakers are set to Samsung; I do not know if it is a Windows issue or a DR issue. At the time of this issue my Win 10 is fully patch, updates, all drivers are at their latest firmware.
Kudos to Reynaud Venter, I was stuck for weeks before his help.
