Viewfactor Cage BMPCC Mount Question

PostTue Dec 31, 2013 4:08 am

Hi,

I am looking into buying a viewfactor cage with PL Mounting Bracket.

I know it says it is for the hot rod pl mount, but would this work for the metabones speed booster?

I want to attach my metabones permanently and I would like to not use rods if possible.

If this does not work any other suggestions. I want an ultra low profile rig.

The Viewfactor PL adaptor support is designed for the Hotrod adaptor. It won't work with others.

The Speed Booster comes with a foot that incorporates an Arca Swiss mount plate. With the Viewfactor cage on the BMPCC that mount plate is not clear of the cage so it not much use... However it does have a threaded hole and it only about a 1mm proud of the cage. So placing a small shim on the cage then bolting a tripod plate or simple a cheese plate you could bold the cage and the adaptor together very easily.

Adam, is there another cage that you know of that would not need a shim?

The wooden Camera cage for the Pocket works with the Speed Booster, you can directly mount the speed booster to tripod plate or rail/rods plate.
