16:9 frame guides for open gate

PostSun Sep 15, 2024 7:22 am

Hi, does anyone have an easy solution to create accurate frame guides for their black magic cinema 6K camera that will allow me to film in open gate but create some sort of guidelines so that when I zoom in during post to fill a 16 x 9 frame, I will know what I’m getting and can frame accordingly during production thank you.

There’s frame guides built into the camera. Navigate to the Monitor Menu Page and you’ll find them. They are also accessible via the OSD. On the Pockets/BMCC6K you can even enter in custom crop guides. It’s all in the manual.
