Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini

PostSun Sep 29, 2024 11:05 am

Hi Ya'll

I'm Struggling to find any answer to a couple of questions about the cloud store mini if anyone can help?

- If you connect a couple of PC's up via ethernet, can the storage space be added as a local drive to the computer so you can access it easily through My Computer?

- Will it be fast enough to capture 1080 video through Adobe Premiere or Media Express to record straight onto the storage space?

- If connected to a PC that has Dropbox, can the storage space be used for the Dropbox to store local files?

Thank you in advance if you are able to help at all :D

If you have a 10g network. It will work BEAUTIFULLY. Again if you have a 10G network. If you are just using 1G, you will have issues.

1 - Cloud Store works like any SMB share. You can map it to you computer. Google "Map network drive to Windows" (or mac if use that).

2 - Yes, even a 1GbE connection can handle that.

3 - As the drive is mapped, anything can be directed to it. Dropbox, download folder, google drive. You name it. What is best as a workflow is a different question.

I have a small 5port 10g switch that connects the Mini and 2 desktops (one Mac and one PC) with 10g nics.

I was able to edit an entire series of videos on my Mac directly accessing the Mini with no problem. Now that I have an M1Max connected, the storage drops out a bit every so often - which is a bit frustrating. I should test it against a different M series.
