Replay and Atem ISO - what gear is needed?

PostWed Oct 16, 2024 11:56 pm

UPDATE:
We now have a working system. I'll list the gear.
Mac mini M4 with 250 gig internal drive
OWC 11 port **powered** thunderbolt dock
OWC thunderbolt 4 cables throughout
Innoview portable 15.6 folding monitors using USB3
ATEM Extreme ISO SDI
Samsung T7 1 gig SSD drive
Macallly **wired** keyboard and multi button mouse
Ultrastudio Monitor 3G for 1080p 59.95 output
Resolve Replay controller panel, wired with usb 3

We just did a Monster Jam using this gear with minimal problems, except:
1. You MUST have a powered thunderbolt hub to run the monitors and other peripherals
2. We use wired keyboard and controller because bluetooth is not 100% reliable in a room with 15000 cell phones.
3. When I mark a POI / in point on live inputs, the POI will end up being 2-6 seconds BEFORE that point, which screwed up some replays. We had to manually reset every POI with the jog wheel. This sucks big time. We were only using 2 cameras at this event, not all 8 available.
4. Playback was reliable and smooth 99% of the time. But the device would sometimes change to some mode where it was 'stuck in run' with no footage playing and no response to mouse. I had to quit and restart the app. Luckily, this took seconds and the footage became available on restarting Resolve, so I was able to make playback work in time.

ORIGINAL POST++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We want to create a portable slomo system using Replay, an ATEM mini pro ISO SDI, a Mac mini, two monitors (one multi view and one for the Mac with resolve and switcher control software), and a 2tb SSD USB3 drive. Is this everything we need, or will we need other items?

Our cameras include 3 Sony HXC-D70 hd cameras with box lenses, and two more available Ursa cameras, running SDI to a Panasonic switcher. We already split our camera SDI outs to go to tape replay, so we just want to ditch tape and go to the Resolve system. Running in 1080i 59.94.
