Hey guys,
I runned into a problem on set the other day. My AC connected everything from cam to monitor on d-tap straight into the battery plate. We had a few hiccup during the day with the d-tap splitter resulting in everything shutting down and powering up again in a matter of seconds. After that happen a few time, the sdi output stopped working altogether. I thought my sdi port blew out so i was pissed and in a rush so we ended testing a few things to see if we had signal coming out of the sdi. It looked dead at the time. Today, since I had time on my hand, I tested it and though about looking if the sdi was still outputting an hd signal or if it was somehow back to 4k (my camera ecosystem is not 4k yet). I guess I am lucky, because it reverted to 4k somehow and seems like the port is fine now.
My question right now is if this could be a safety measure that if the port is about to be blown, the sdi signal revert by itself to an original state or on the contrary if they're is a known issue where the sdi output revert to original state by itself for any other reasons? Should I send it back since it's still 3 weeks old and under warranty or it's really not an issue? I've got another short coming in 2 weeks and would love to shoot on my pyxis instead of my OG ursa.
Thanks for output!
Benjamin
