.m2t not all get imported into media pool

PostThu Jan 09, 2025 2:55 pm

Hi,
When I try to import a batch of .m2t files into Davinci Resolve media pool, only some of the files get imported. I then converted one of the files to an mp4 file in Handbrake and it displays in DR.
What is the best method to get these batches of files into DR? Convert all to mp4? Best settings? Handbrake or other?
And then I want to "up rez" the files; I have the REZ UP plugin, en hance and resize, or would RD be better at it?

The m2t files were originated in 2013 on Mini DV on a Canon HD40, and at the time ingested onto a Mac with firewire to m2t files. I now work on PC. I have the Mini DV cassettes.

Thank you,
Rina Sherman

So, you have digital copies already, no reason to start over. The first thing to try is not re-encoding those files, since it will reduce quality. Try to re-wrap them into .mov with a tool like Shutter Encoder (donationware) and see if those get ingested. The process is lossless and fast.
If that doesn't work, please post a sample to a cloud service and give us the link. As a newcomer, you may not be able to post URLs, just add a single space somewhere in the URL.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

Thanks, Shutterencoder rewraps a sample clip to MOV, which plays perfectly image and sound in VLC. Imported into Davinci Resolve all is there image and sound, TX

Hi,
In the past I managed to rewrap with Shutterstock my m2t files, but now I need to import mpg and m2v files into davinci and when I rewrap to mov and or mp4 my mpg or m2v files they do not work in DCR, mpg cannot import and m2v imports with audio fine, but image on timeline flickers between the image and media offline?

Thank you?
