DeckLink IP 100G > 8K support?

PostTue Apr 08, 2025 9:11 am

Hi everyone,
I can't find 8k as supported video standard for DeckLink IP 100G and I'm wondering why that might be the case. From what I understand, it can handle capture and playback of 8x 4K streams, so wouldn't 2x 8K also be feasible?

Is it just a matter of the current lack of ST 2110 support for 8K, or is there some other technical limitation I'm missing?

Best,
Lukas

I think it comes down to testing and which use cases that have been prioritized. Even for HD the limit is 8ch even though the amount of bandwidth could allow for 32ch of HD. They are probably looking into it, but won't dare promise too much yet.

No one will send 8K as there is no standard for it, so you can't capture it :)
If there is a 8K standard then it's probably not implemented yet.
