Speed editor battery replacement

PostFri May 30, 2025 3:58 am

Lots of old posts on this topic.

What is the current scoop on the Speed Editor Battery?

Is it replaceable? What battery is it, what does it look like. Has anything changed since the wired & wrapped battery I saw in a video?

I never saw this till just installing DR 20 but the little Speed Editor Icon down in the corner shows my battery red dead.

I never ran mine unplugged because I'm on Linux and even though it shows up in my list of Bluetooth Devices is would never connect.

QUESTIONS TO BLACKMAGIC:

1. Can this thing run forever with the battery removed?

2. Are there replacement batteries with the wire connection and same specs?

Just watched the video above.. FYI, it looks like there is a circuitboard under the shrinkwrap on the 18650 cell most likely connected to the lead. Maybe some kind of protection circuit? If one was to replace that cell it would be a good to reuse that circuitboard or at least find out what it is before replacing the cell.
