Linux Universal installer for Davinci Resolve

PostMon Jun 09, 2025 11:28 am

So, after over 1,000 downloads in a short space of time of my easy DaVinci Resolve install script for various Linux platforms, I figured there might be an audience for something more… so I’ve made the “one script to rule them all” — a universal DR installer script for pretty much all Linux distros. It’s currently working on the following:
• Pop!_OS
• Manjaro
• Fedora 42
• CachyOS
• Linux Mint
• SteamOS
• Ubuntu
• Rocky

Linux distros generally break down into four main groups: Debian, RHEL, Arch, and SUSE (side note: I haven’t cracked SUSE yet). The installer detects which group your system falls into and tries to sort everything out for you.

My stretch goal? To get DaVinci Resolve running on a handheld device that supports SteamOS — it’s all about the AMD OpenCL drivers, not Resolve itself. Just imagine portable editing with a screen, keyboard, and mouse.

Anyway, enjoy!
