Hi, I guess I'm not the first with this topic, but up to now haven't found a way to solve it reading other topics..
I'm using a Dell laptop with USB 3.2/Thunderbolt 4 ports on Windows 11. I use it on 2 locations with a docking station. One docking station has 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, the other has 1 Thunderbolt 3 port.
I have an UltraStudio Monitor 3G which is immediately recognised by BMD Desktop Video Setup. On the ports of the laptop, on the Thunderbolt 4 ports on the 1st docking station and on the Thunderbolt 3 port on the 2nd docking station. So far so good.
Now I also have a older version UltraStudio Mini Recorder, the non-3G Thunderbolt 2 version. What I read is that it still should work using an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. But unfortunately it won't get recognised. Further search has given me the impression that most likely these older devices do not work when connected with the adapter to a Thunderbolt 4 port. You should use a "host" in between that has a Thunderbolt 3 port as a kind of Thunderbolt 4 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter. Which I think the second docking station is.
But it doesn't get recognised. On none of the ports. Tried 2 units, also with a second Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. Can't imagine all are broken. No power LED when connected (guess it has a LED like the 3G version) but power seems to be applied as the units slightly get warmer when connected.
Am I doing something wrong, do I need to (re)configure anything or does this simply not work and can I best buy the 3G version? Help is much appreciated.
