can't remove window in resolve

PostTue Jun 03, 2025 11:26 am

Hi,

I have a new window in my resolve layout that i can't figure out how to hide.

I have the workspace on 2 monitors, the extra window is to the left of the 2 video where I see the timeline preview and current video being edited.

it says "Parameters", upon mouseover it has "video" underneath then "all video", "transform", cropping, composite, etc. has a mouse, hand, little diamond, 3 dots with a line through.. etc.

There's no option to remove it!

Thank

You mean the Inspector?

Click the name and it goes away :)

That is the Keyframe panel. In either the Cut or Edit pages, if it is highlighted, Just click on the word Keyframes to close it. Pic shows my 2 screen layout.

The Keyframes tab to click and remove only appears if I have single screen layout. When I put dual screen it puts the section back into the layout with no tab to remove it.

1) you never specified vertical workspace. That's extremely important.

I don't have any vertical video currently, but have you tried Workspace -> Show Panel In Workspace -> Keyframes?

I tried per your suggestion and it just ignores whether its selected or removed, stays all the time.

If I'm using a normal format, not vertical, it appears only if selected and it appears on the left window instead of the right here.

This must have to do with the latest update, I never had this before, so annoying.

I am having the same issue.

The Keyframe window does not allow you to toggle it on or off in dual screen or usethe full screen pop out feature. These two features do work in single screen mode. Attached is a screen shot of the main Edit window in dual screen. TNotice the Keyframe button is missing and that the the keyframe fullscreen button is grayed out. This bug or limitation is very frustrating. Will it be fixed in the next update?

Yeah it seems to be a bug or limitation of using a vertical timeline. I just noticed while jumping between two stacked timelines, one 16:9 and the other 9:16, that Keyframes was forced to display with the vertical timeline and wasn't on with the horizontal timeline.

I hope this issue is dealt with in the next update. I'll go report it as a bug / feature request.

I installed davinci on another computer with smaller monitors. In vertical mode it actually pushes off the video preview I'm working on to fit this extra window, I have to have the inspector closed to see the editing video and timeline window at once. What the hell, blackmagic, fix this!

Also the mark in and mark out buttons have dissapeared. I have to press I and O.

I'mm going to try to go back to previous version of davinci.

They will probably fix this stuff in the next update. Vertical layout UI is a new feature and so it may take a couple updates to work out the kinks. Resolve 20 is so powerful otherwise that it's worth dealing with these quirks for all the additional new features.

Also BM needs to give us more versatility with the windows. I've got 3 monitors at this desk and I can't see the video I'm editing window & the timeline window at the same time, I can use one monitor for full screen and i can do one monitor just for timeline but this doesn't allow me to arrange as i see fit.

I used to use lightworks years ago and you could put windows wherever you wanted.

You'll get better performance if you buy a Blackmagic Decklink or UltraStudio video card and use that for your main Viewer output.

Why Should I Support BlackMagicDesign With More Money To Solve Their Problems of Non-Flexible Interface(s) ?
I Thought Buying Studio License For 2 Users Was Very Enough To Receive A Premium Support,
But, It Turned Out That I'm Wrong

Hey fellow Marc with a C. I've seen you post a lot on this forum and appreciate your experience and knowledge.

Could you tell us some of the additional benefits we'd get from a Deckline or UltraStudio? I never bothered spending the money because my main color display is a color calibrated LG. It's nice but not that nice.

Seems like you're implying that the layout is affected by using the added piece of hardware. That seems odd and now I'm curious what other benefits might make it worth the hardware upgrade. I use two horizontal displays and one vertical in Resolve. One of the horizontals is my main viewer output, although I use the vertical display for a clean feed editing vertical content.
