Latest Windows 11 security patch might be breaking SSDs

FYI:

"Latest Windows 11 security patch might be breaking SSDs under heavy workloads."

May even "brick" the target SSD... see comments at the below link.

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-compone ... r-a-reboot

After attempting a regular periodic BU with Acronis of sys dr c:, SSD to SSD, I noticed reallly slow and erratic disk write speeds in Taskmanager>Performance>Dr W: to target SSD. What normally took about 12 min...took almost 30 min.

Turns out that Win 11 auto update 24H2 with the KB5063878 update installed without me knowing on 08-16-25.
Prompted me to Google search to above link.

Because UG was within 10 days it was deletable under System>Update (bottom of page)

After delete>restart ran same BU. Back to normal of about 12 min...with no drastic erratic disk write speeds.

Don't know if this is being addressed with a remedial UG...but just in case I have turned off auto-update in services.msc.

***update
1. Checking services.msc F***'n Windows keeps suppressing "disable" auto update to manual trigger.
2. BTW, here's the best vid I've seen on uninstalling any/all recent KB* win 11 updates using command prompt
