Mr. Grant Petty's last (10/19/12) BMCC status update is right here in these forums (reproduced below); no need to wonder about what he said. I've highlighted the parts where he sets expectations about
when he expects things to happen:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1895"Hi,
I was going to do an update today, but I still have not quite got the latest info I need to update everyone accurately. However what I do know is there is a small amount of cameras shipping again, but its slow because some of the testing software needed to qualify sensors before they ship to us was completed later than we expected. However things are starting to move.
I hope to have more info next week. The supplier is quite upbeat though and expects a lot more sensors next week to ship so that is good.Sorry I cannot provide more accurate info, but
I hope to get more details soon and then will update everyone.Grant"

Based on what Mr. Petty wrote, it seems reasonable to have expected another status update within the past day or so. Sure, we might wait until Monday, but that of course will be another in a series of missed deadlines.
More
over-promising and under-delivering on BMD's part. Not in a technological sense -- I think the BMCC is a technical marvel & a tremendous value, unfortunately largely unavailable -- but also BMD is especially under-delivering in terms of effective and timely communication.
What Mr. Petty wrote raises several obvious questions, for example:
Did the "supplier" actually deliver good sensors or not? If so, how many? If not, why not? (Concrete numbers, or ranges of numbers, please.)
Did Mr. Petty finally receive the "latest info" he expected last week? If so, can he share it with us? If he didn't receive it, why not? What prevented it?
How many (in concrete numbers) is a "small amount of cameras"? Are these being distributed randomly, or in the strict order in which end-user customers pre-ordered them? If not, why not?
Again: Under the circumstances, one of the best things BMD can do, aside from shipping cameras -- and even in addition to shipping cameras -- is to give us regular weekly BMCC status reports. Good news, bad news, and
concrete news.
Plus, occasionally throw us a low-cost "PR" bone, such as snapshots of smiling, toiling BMD employees with their sleeves rolled-up, working the problem, a rack full of cameras being burned-in, boxes of cameras being shipped, etc. I mean, what does BMD pay its PR/marketing people for?
I used to be a BMD apologist. Now I'm just crabby. Optimistic, but crabby.
Cheers (grrrrrrr....),
- Peter
