Not much news is coming out of NAB, looks like new versions of the Adobe CC apps and DaVinci 11 are the only things.

Sony on Sunday afternoon announced their new A7s camera with a new alpha mount (accepts A mount and E mount lenses) up to ISO 409600 for stills. 4K video, XAVC 50 Mbps on camera, S-Log2, best quality recordings via 4K HDMI out to a new optional device. No real details yet but sounds interesting.

Scott, any more details on the best recording codec the A7s supports externally? Disappointing it is 8bit, but 8bit what?

The worst part? Even if BM releases some amazing item tomorrow...B&H isn't accepting any orders until the 22nd! You'll have to wait two weeks to place your order.

They are closed for Passover starting Monday the 14th tho. When BM announces something today, you'll still have a week to get in the order?

The bigger question is whether BM will pass over our BMCC 2.5k firmware update!

We'll know soon.

Firmware 1.7 has zero updates for BMCC/BMPC/BMPCC. I think that's fairly indicative. Although I'm begging to be wrong.

Interesting that the firmware for just this new camera is already set for launch... Maybe they expect a faster deployment than they've had for the other 3 cameras?
