The Drybrush Master-Documentary Shot on BMCC EF

PostMon Apr 07, 2014 3:46 pm

Hi all,
So I've been working on a 30 min documentary called The Drybrush Master for over a year now. It was shot on the BMCC EF in Prores. The documentary follows Greg Ruth, an illustrator and the author of the Lost Boy graphic novel. We're releasing clips from the film on Greg's site up until the release [currently slated for May 12th but we may go earlier since it's done]. The clips were graded in filmcovert and the audio edited and mixed by a local studio in Western MA. One of the clips is an interview shot in Virginia on a 60D by someone else that didn't end up in the film but otherwise it's all BMCC with a few b-roll clips from a Sony FS700 in the main film. The film also features the likes of Jane Yolen, Rebecca Guay, Ruth Sanderson, and others.

The final color mix was done in DaVinci Resolve by ColorSpace Finishing in LA. The score is by Nicky Royston in the UK.

This looks great! But you may wish to bump it later in the week.

You picked a bad day.

What day do think would be good? I think we're leaning more toward the 1st.

Oh, I just meant bump this thread later in the week. Everyone on this site has got tunnel vision today regarding NAB releases and its a madhouse.

Normally you'd have a lot more people checking this out. Don't forget the bmc user forum as well.

Again, this looks really cool.

Oh yeah didn't even think about that. Whoops. Probably did the equivalent of pushing a food cart into the trenches of a war zone. Certainly also very pissed off about my BMCC EF becoming a few more notches obsolete.
