Canon Cine-Servo 17-120mm T2.95

PostSun Apr 13, 2014 11:28 pm

Anyone have experience with the Canon line of Cinema zooms? This lens seems like a deal, covering that length in PL/EF for only $32K. If the URSA proves not to have the issues of the BM4K, this might be a great ENG setup for less than $40K. Thoughts?

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to carry around the URSA as a ENG camera all day. Body only is 7.5kg. :)

Ziess was releasing similar lenses.. not sure how much it costs though.. but if your going to spend 30k.. better to be a Ziess or a Fujinon in my opinon..

Canon always made pretty good Zooms. Hell, their S16mm zooms were amazing. However, I think Alura and Fujinon are where it's at currently.
