I think maybe the difference now is with Lite and Resolve penetrating into the "consumer" market you're gonna have a LOT more users
not working with a control surface which is what the many years of development is probably based around ...
So the UI may be refined to work great with a control surface, but without one many users are probably going to want to customize the UI to suit their (mouse clicking) needs more. IMHO of course. It works well for me on a 27" monitor just mouse clicking around but also thinking out loud here and seeing dqford has a point... Thanks Peter!
