Maybe it's like the Tokina issue. Some are just a problem and some are fine. Though I would have no idea how to fix it.
Greetings ¿Have you tried these Macro lenses with your BMCC?
- Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro
- Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro
- Canon Macro Photo MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x
- Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro
I'm mainly curious about the MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x, and a bit of the EF 180mm f/3.5L. Thanks.
Hey Rafael,
The EF-S 60mm is great! I don't have the Canon 180mm, but I do have the Tamron 180mm. It's ok but I prefer to use the canon 100mm non-IS with kenko extension tubes. The kenko's are cheaper than the canon and, frankly, better. A friend of mine has the canon 180mm but I like my 100mm with the tubes a LOT more. The MP-E 65mm is a BEAST of a lens... but it can be very tricky. You focus by moving the camera into the focal plane. Wide open you literally have a couple of mm DOF at best. At f/16 you get almost an inch. It can take some getting use to. You need light and a nice micro adjustable head... but when you pull it off, oh man, it's for the ages!
Thank you very much hehe, I was wondering for a long time how did the MP-E 65mm perform with the BMCC. The MP-E 65mm is like a must for Macro shooting, If budget is good by these days I'll get that one along the EF 100mm and some tubes. Glad to know tha the EF-S 60mm works as well. Thanks again.
