Why no body is discussing Olympus 14-35mm f2?

PostWed Nov 28, 2012 3:49 pm

I know that it will be impossible to use m4/3 electronic lenses as their focuses are electronic also (focus by wire). But what about 4/3 lenses? Aperture can be controlled via an other camera (i tested my 12-35mm panasonic on af101, and when you change the aperture and remove the lens it stays unchanged), and we can use Olympus 14-35mm f2 (i believe it is mechanical focus) on m4/3 version of the camera which is perfect lens wide open.

Is there anything i am missing?

That seems like a really annoying workflow.

it is actually pretty standard for canon lens users on other cameras (as it will be on m43 bmcc camera).

I wouldn't recommend it though. It'd take too much time having to switch cameras every time you wanted the slightest tweak to your aperture, and you'd look hella unprofessional whilst doing it.
