CFast 2.0 not detected

PostWed Feb 04, 2015 3:06 am

We've shoot with URSA using Sandisk CFast 2.0 128GB Extreme Pro.
After shoot, we check file on camera. Looks good. Then we use Atomos card reader to move files.
We formatted it on MacPro as written on URSA manual book. It went alright.
Card are read properly by URSA. We can continue to shoot.
On 3rd day. 1 of our card not detected by our MacPro. So, we put again on camera. It says No Card.
On 4th day, another card has the same problem.
On 6th day, same problem. So we only have 1 card left.
Someone told us not to formatted it on laptop. It created problem.
So, we downloaded 2.0 Software. And use URSA to formatted it.
On 7th day, we were doomed. Our last card not detected. Unable to format URSA said.
We don't have card anymore of course we have to stop and waited for substitute camera. Other brand.
What's the happening?
If we are forbid to format it on Laptop. Why it's written on manual?
Or... Is it possible this Atomos Card Reader create all this problems?

I'm really glad that BMD and SanDisk are seeing more reports about this issue now. Mostly because the rental house we got our cards from were trying to place the blame on us.

6 Years later, having this issue. Have had Sandisk send me a second card through RMA. I have found a technique to offload these cards using the program Do Your Data Recovery. I dont really want another card from them I would like a refund. I suspect they wont do that though. If anyone else experiences this, I have been successful twice recovering the Data on the card although a bit of a painstaking process.
