XML metadata

PostMon Apr 06, 2015 10:56 am

Hi all,

If I export an ALE from Resolve (11.1.3 full) every custom metadata (like shot, scene, description,..) is in the ALE file. If I export an xml or fcpxml there is none of this information in the file. Is this behaviour normal? Is there a way to get that metadata into the xml. I need it for a import into Adobe Premiere CS6.

Thanks,
Gerhard

Yes, that's normal behavior.

No, there is no way to get that into the XML.

Thanks Dwaine for your fast response.
Is this a limitation of the xml specification? Will this be changed in future?

Ok, I can comment that metadata IS and WILL be a big topic in the future. So please don't ignore it.

Thanks,

Is this in any way changed by now. Been burning hours and days to find a way to export metadata added during the Resolve session - not as CSV - as XML(*). My target is normally my CatDV media management solution as a return in a round trip. Any help in the area, please.

(* Catdv use a simple XML structure for sidecar metadata XML to each clip. A CSV file need to be manually taken into a tool like Excel for XML generation and then manual edit it to fit return to Catdv. With 1000´s of clips this is not an option.)
