Duplicate iMac monitor on external plasma

PostFri Dec 28, 2012 4:01 pm

Hi all and first of all sorry for my poor english
I have an Intensity Extreme and I use it with Avid Media Composer to see my timeline on external plasma
But I'd like to know if I can to duplicate my Imac monitor on the same plasma to see some tv channel too

Thanks in advance for the answers

Yes you can do this, it is quite common. But it doesn't require an Intensity Extreme.
All iMacs include a port for an external display. You just need to buy an adapter from HDMI to Mini DisplayPort (or Mini-DVI if your iMac is older) and plug the plasma into that. In System Preferences, you can choose whether to mirror or extend your display.

Thanks Elliott,
Mini DisplayPort is the same as Thunderbolt?
Because I have 2 Thunderbolt, 1 Ethernet, 1 Firewire, 4 usb
1 Thunderbolt is free

Thanks again
