How to move Timeline from one project to other with Grades & Camera Raw Settings.

Color Trace function doesn't help in moving Camera Raw settings adjustments.

Please help to how move about it.

That's really slick, Mathieu. I honestly didn't know you could cut-and-paste timelines this way. I've been just selecting the editing timeline, pasting the clips, and then bringing over the corrections in ColorTrace. Your method is significantly faster.

Thanks Mahtieu. It works....but how do you transfer the timeline with all the clips in their pre-rendered form, as assembled. As it is the transferred timeline seems like a pre-rendered clip so if you apply any additional grading it applies to the complete sequence that you copied.

By this I mean, I provide a rough edit and grade for cast and crew of the daily footage. This is saved as separate project files. How do I consolidate these multiple projects into a final edit timeline, so I don't have to either painstakingly re-edit, re-grade each sequence but have the ability to fine tune the edit and grade for each RAW clip contain in the total project to produce a final cohesive grade?

I think my question more accurately reflects what the OP was asking.

i did not look the video (in at work) but be aware that if you copy and paste a timeline from a project to another, in 12.1 it did not copy the alpha/matte that where not embedded.

There is a check box somewhere, (I'm not in front of my work computer at this moment) to add the alpha channel in this situation. I think it came out with DR12.1 or .2

Not working for me in version 15.2. But, since others here have made it work, I can't help but think I'm missing something? Is there a trick to this?

UPDATE:
This does indeed work, but not as Mathieu's video suggests, at least not for me.

The trick for me was to:
• Select the elements of the timeline you want to copy, which makes sense since it's a copy/paste operation, but which I did not see take place in Mathieu's video.
• Then, save the project,
• Open new project,
• Make a new timeline,
• Make sure the Timeline area is active (does not work if the Bin/Media area is active)
• and paste.

This method brought with it all clips in their entirety, and my color nodes.

Since I'm cutting a new reel, this makes me very happy.

UPDATE #2:
Unfortunately, this method does not bring Camera Raw settings. Rats! And Groups don't make it over either.

For that, I think you would need to use ColorTrace.

I don't think this has been solved properly yet when it comes to groups. I have a timeline with a lot of groups in the project. I'm trying to copy it to another updated version of the same project that someone else worked on, but has all the same groups. Instead of using the same groups, the timeline adds all new groups with generic names (Group 1, Group 2, etc). Not easy to sort out when you have 20+ groups for a large project.

Since this thread was started, the ability to export, share and import timelines (.drt files) has been added.

Might that help?

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

you lose part of the color (like groups)....
.drt does not seems to provide the necessary compatibility.
