Trying to boot up Fusion 8 on a Mid-2010 Mac Pro running Yosemite. Hangs on the splash screen and freezes. What could be causing this? The Graphics card is a Quadro 5000.

OK I guess its sticking with After Effects then.

Yup I'm getting exactly the same behavior on a power mac OS10.10 with a quadro K5000 I have checked the plugins folder for fusion and it is empty so it's not a conflict there. Guess I just going to have to keep researching this one.

I tried reaching out to support via email regarding this issue. The reply I got kinda stunned me. I was informed that the best was to get support is to leave a comment on the forums as this is where the tech support people hangout and resolve issues.
OK well lets see if that is the case.
Enquiry: HI, I have downloaded Fusion 8 Studio for Mac and cannot open the
installed app as it crashes on launch. I am running OSX 10.11.4 Power mac
early 2008 2x 3.2 Ghz quad core Intel Xeon processor, 32 Gigs of RAM,
Nvidia Quadro K5000 graphics card w 4Gig's of RAM. Is there something I can
do to get it to work?

I'm on Mac Pro early 2009 with Quadro 5000 and it's running fine.. (using the latest NVIDIA web driver)

are you using the latest NVIDIA web driver?
do you have some kind of OFX installed in your machine?
