Tracking a flexible object

PostFri May 13, 2016 9:09 am

I have a really long sequence, which has a thin plastic oblong flexible object, being manipulated all over the place. IIt is twisting and turning constantly and I have to replace a logo on it.
I have tried the DVE, the corner pin and combinations of the two, hand tracking mostly. Just wondered what the best approach should be for something like this, in case I am missing something.
Any timesaving ideas welcome. I come from Shake, so still getting to grips with Fusion, but getting on just fine with it.
If in doubt... do nothing.

Grid warp might be the way to go in this case. It's difficult to say without seeing the footage.
There is no clear cut solution for situations like these.

Yea, hadn't looked at that. its quite fiddly, so still needs a transform with it for the main move I guess. `May be the way to go.

Thanks for the idea

If you like, you could show me the shot via PM, maybe I can offer some pointers.

Thanks, can't quite make out how to attach a picture though. img just prints"img" in the message.
Is there an attach thing somewhere? Sorry to be a pain

The img tags only work with images that have an url attached to them as you can tell from the tool tip when you hover over it.

One way to share videos is to just upload it to dropbox and share that link.

Also there is a tab called 'upload attachment' next to 'options' when you're in the message composing field. But it appears that the upload quotum has been reached.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it worked. I just haven't had time to look at it yet. Will do so soon.
