Fusion Load Times

PostFri Dec 02, 2016 6:14 am

Hey All,

I have noticed lately that Fusion comps take quite a bit longer to load if there are .mov sources in the comp. Even if those .mov loaders are not in use, or even being passed through, the comp takes 5-10x longer to load. I would guess that the time goes up with the number of .mov loaders in the scene.

I was just wondering if this is something wrong with my system, or if this behaivor is expected?

I would have thought that the QTwrapper service would not be activated until you tried to view a node with a .mov loader in use. no?

Thoughts?
Thanks

Fusion never liked .mov

The best way to work with are sequences.
With those, Fusion it's really faster.

Yep, I am also getting short freezes every time i select and use any loader or saver that has .mov format. It's very annoying :/

Same here.

The Quicktime loaders take 5 times more to respond than an AVI loader of the same size.
