Beginner problem: Rendering results not showing up

PostTue Mar 07, 2017 4:56 am

As it says on the tin.

Pleased with my results, added a saver to the flow chart and set the export format to png. Rendered it, and when I checked the designated location, nothing.

Set the export format to .mov, nothing.

Restarted the program, tried out different formats, nothing.

Can someone identify the problem?

can you share a screenshot of you saver (or post the saver here)? more likely to see it then guess what has gone wrong`?

obvious questions:
did you connect the saver to the last node of you tree?
did you provide a valid filename in the saver?
did any errors occur in during rendering?

Here's the screenshot. Not sure how to upload the saver, will try to figure it out but in the meantime this is what my flow chart looks like.

Tried attaching my saver to three different nodes: the camera node, the primatte node, and finally one of the loaders. The camera node is the last one I inserted into the flow chart, but when I tried rendering with the saver attached to that one, the results did not show up in the designated folder.

Same goes for my other two attempts.

Also, no errors while rendering. No interruptions or anything of the sort. I believe i set the format names right, though you can correct me if I am wrong about that.

Anyway, can you tell me how to upload the saver? Ha ha I'm sorry for being so inexperienced.

Hi Ryan,

generically the correct order would be (If you are using Loaders as sources of your image planes):

Loaders > image planes > Merge 3D > Renderer 3D > Saver

Your comp is a bit confuse: for example you connected the Saver output to the mask input of the room1 Loader which does not make sense.

It seems that you didn't yet learned the functions of the inputs and outputs of the nodes.

I suggest starting with a basic tutorial series, like this:

Davinci Studio | Windows 11 | AMD Ryzen 5950X | 2x Radeon RX 6750XT | 64GB RAM

Thank you. You are right my comp was all over the place heh heh. Thank you for directing me to the tutorial series and for helping me understand the correct order of the nodes!
