[SOLVED] DR 14b2/12.5 unable to deliver correct footage

PostSat May 20, 2017 4:07 pm

Dear all power Resolve user,
I'm completely new to DaVinci Resolve.

Since I have 2 DR dongles coming with my cameras I installed DaVinci Resolve 14 beta 2.

I shoot with my Ursa Mini Pro a few seconds in HD 60fps Raw DNG,
I imported this footage in Resolve (directly from the CFAST card), created a timeline (1920x1080 60fps),
In Resolve it plays smoothly without problem,
I delivered in Apple ProRes 422 HQ but my delivery contains terrific colour bands,
Image
After trying many times it does the same in H264 or ProRes 422 or 422LT

This is the settings I use in the Deliver tab:

I tried on my desktop Mac and on my MacBook Pro (touch 15)
My desktop computer appear as:
Image
I use Transcend CFX650 256GB and a Lexar CR1 reader connected in USB 3.1.

Same appears with 4,6k/25fps raw dag in a UHD/25fps timeline
What I made wrong?

After many investigations, I uninstalled Resolve 14b2 and installed 12.5…

Exactly the same behaviour in the 2 versions. In fact I did not explained completely my setup.
I read somewhere here in this forum that the dongle can be placed in a VirtualHere server. I do not know if it really worked when the message was posted in the forum.

But today with VirtualHere client 4.0.9 for Mac, the dongle on a QNAP Intel NAS and using it via a local network: DaVinci Resolve 12 or 14 opens, you can work everywhere but when it is time to deliver. Resolve deliver this kind of terrific images.

Placing the dongle in a local USB gives good delivery.

With the same dongle on the same server and a DaVinci Resolve 14.0b2 on Windows 10 and it works perfectly.

Have you tried copying the footage to a local drive?

Thank you for your help Kays,
I've tried to copy the footage on my local Samsung EVO 850 2TB ssd without any success. It might be a bug in the way Resolve for MacOS is controlling the presence of the dongle.

Anywhere else when you remove the dongle Resolve says that you have less than 60 seconds for replugging but it seems that in MacOS when you deliver it checks continuously.

Apparemment c'estb réglé, tu sais que sur ton mac il doit être en local. Tu peux maintenant lme vendre ton dongle de trop, je te l'achète 200 balles ;)

Hi,
Thank you for your interest but do you think really is a good method for starting bargaining?

Also I'd like to understand why it does not work. For example when I remove the dongle (local or remote) I get a message telling that I have 60s for reinserting it. So if I disconnect the dongle just before rendering, render, and replug… But strangely I get the same artefacting!

You need to make sure your dongle is locally plugged in. Please do not use any USB emulation software etc.

Of course not, I was actually relying on your sense of humor, given that dongle users may know a local plug is necessary... It was a way to switch from what's obvious to something lighter (and interesting for me ;) ).
I indeed know a PM would have been more accurate...
