How to see a timelines list of source files location path

PostSun Nov 19, 2017 4:06 pm

I'm still using 12.5 studio, someday I'll make the jump t 14.2 :)

In my project, I have my media Pool organized into many bins organized by subject categories. e.g. cats, dogs, fish, birds, etc. with files of the relevant subjects in each appropriate bin.

My desire is when working in the timeline, to view a quick listing of only the files used in that timeline, and their physical storage location paths.

I make my timeline and then when looking at the Edit Index, I see the clips used in my timeline, with start and stop times, and the source file filename. The Edit Index shows the file name, but hot the full file path.
I'm unable to add a file path field to the Edit Index, and the choices are limited.

What am I missing? or do I need to make a smart bin or such.

Hi Mike,

Set the preferences User option "Always highlight current clip in media pool"

In the edit page, display the media pool (which has the full file path display) and the clip selected in the time line will always be highlighted.

Easy isn't it?

You could also use the "burn in" function to display the file path as an overlay on the Resolve viewers.

And a smart bin should work for what you need (like originally contemplated).
Resolve 14.3 Studio. GTX 970 with GeForce 390.77 driver. Desktop Video 10.9.10. Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0. Windows 10 Pro.
