Fusion 9.0.1 ColorCorrection Crashed

PostWed Nov 29, 2017 6:05 pm

Goodmorning everyone.
Fusion 9.0.1 always closes when I insert and use the ColorCorrection.
I've updated the drivers of my video card. (Nvidia K2200)
My WS: 2xXeon E2680v3 @3.1 + 64GB Ram + k2200

Can you help me?

Have you tried turning off OpenCL in the common controls tab? There is a known bug with CC, Gamut, and ColorCurves in OpenCL mode, so that's the first thing to check.

This should be a sticky thread by now. I'm thinking of creating a special draft of this message to copy/paste whenever this question pops up.

I agree. But until that time, an easy way for people to find out about the - relatively easy - workaround is welcome as well.

I had the same problem on two machines, both with Quadro cards. No openCL options on common tab, and fusion 9.0.1 crashing when you try and open the OpenCL preference. Not sure if it matters but both are win10 and both have recently been updated with the 1709 win 10 "fall creators" update.

Both were running the current nvidia "Optimal driver for industry ODE" driver - 385.90.

The release notes on the current "Quadro New Feature" driver - 388.16 - mentioned something about the "Fall Creators Update" so I updated to this driver on both machines. Hey Presto - no crash when opening OpenCL prefs, the OpenCL common tab now appears on Colour Corrector nodes, and it all seems to work.
Haven't really tested much other than the CC node yet, though.

Moral of the story - when you say you updated your drivers did you update to the current ODE driver? If so then you might want to try the "new feature" one. Worked for me.

Same thing over here on a Mac Pro with a Quadro, just clicking the OpenCL pane in preferences crashes Fusion.

Thank you; it's so rare for someone to actually share a solution! Which Quadro card(s) were you dealing with, please? More data is better data.

One is a Dell mobile workstation, i7-4800MQ, 32G RAM, quadro k3100m. Other is a desktop, i7-6700k, 64G RAM, two quadro M4000 cards. Both running win 10 with "creators fall update" 1709.
