More thunderbolt ports!

PostSat Sep 08, 2012 12:33 am

Why do you keep shipping thunderbolt based products with only one port? It's a major pain in the ass.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who has had to connect and capture to FW800 based drives only because our MacMini;s sole thunderbolt port is gobbled up by our Ultrastudio 3D.
I do remember seeing an early version of the Ulstrastudio had 2 TB ports but ended up shipping with a single one - much to my disappointment. Please consider making it a priority to allow for daisy chaining of you TB based products.

Totally agree. I was exited when I started reading the announcement on the new UltraStudio 4k but then got a little disappointed when I looked at the picture of the rear connectors and saw only one Thunderbolt port. So far the only io box with two Thunderbolt ports is the AJA IO XT.

Check out some of the Thunderbolt Hubs. They give you a pass through

Yes I have one of those on my desk - so I guess the question is if Lacie can include 2 ports on a $150 eSata adaptor why can't Blackmagic do the same on a $995 Ultrastudio 3D?
