I may have found the culprit but not sure what to do about it. I caught CrashReporter chugging CPU in Activity Monitor and so I opened my Console and most of it looks like this:
...Feb 22 12:33:11 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7744]: [7744] stack overflow
Feb 22 12:33:12 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7745]: [7745] stack overflow
Feb 22 12:33:12 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7746]: [7746] stack overflow
Feb 22 12:33:13 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7747]: [7747] stack overflow
Feb 22 12:33:13 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7748]: [7748] stack overflow
Feb 22 12:33:14 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7749]: [7749] stack overflow
Feb 22 12:33:14 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7750]: [7750] stack overflow
Feb 22 12:33:14 Vin-Mac-Pro VstScanner[7751]: [7751] stack overflow...
(repeats about 8500 times now)
I disabled all audio plugins and also removed the directory and rebooted, but this is still happening. I'm pretty sure this is Resolve trying to scan my plugins. I'm also noticing a lot of "_DirtyJetsamMemoryLimit" related stuff in my log, which as far as I can tell means things are fighting for memory.
I should mention that Resolve originally crashed scanning a few particular plugins so I deleted them from my system. I haven't seen an error alert or even scanning plugins window since.
Potentially but not necessarily related, Resolve never quits. It tries to quit, freezes in the background with a lot of memory usage and requires force quit. This may be a symptom and not a cause, not sure.
Thanks again if anyone has ideas on how to make this stop!
