Beta15 appears to corrupt internal settings of MiniPanel

PostMon May 07, 2018 7:26 pm

Well this is pretty weird. Mini panel with firmware 1.1.2. OS X 10.13.4 + security patch. MiniPanel connected only on enet with fixed local IP, DNS off.

run beta15 with mini panel and all seems well.

due to problems with getting R15b2 to run, I went back to R14.3

when I did so I found that the buttons ( top left ) were often off by one. hit primary, the top row of buttons to pick primary, log, offset, RGB mixer pick instead Log, Offset, primary, RGB mixer

likewise the panel buttons for Motion picks RGB curves
Curves->Motion
Qualifer->curves
window ->window
FX->tracker
Blur->input sizing

and other oddness. power down, power up. held Home button down until it flashed on one power cycle, all still messed up in R14.3. works fine in R15

Could you please try uninstalling and installing Resolve 14.3 again. That should fix the issue.

yes but will that then mess up R15 ?

I renamed the original Resolve folder to Resolve 14.3 before installed R15 in case things didn't go well, if that matters.

That’s not a valid process Steve. You can have only one version of Resolve installed. Please uninstall both and install the one you wish to use.

If you have separate databases these don’t need to change when installing the new version, just don’t select to upgrade the DB.

Keeping an previous vers of an app around while testing out a new vers is pretty standard practice. ITs something I've done for 20+ years. Many folks have multiple vers of AE installed because of various reasons, usually around performance. So on one level yes I get it that you install bits of the app into system folders and use a single common name across different vers of the app. That makes the coding job a little easier, but its not so user friendly when you want to keep the prev ver around until you feel the new vers is solid.

FWIW I uninstalled both vers, reinstalled R15b2 and things seem good.

may I suggest, if, when, and until its ok to have different vers of resolve installed, that this bit of info is in the release notes and install info. I've had multiple vers of R installed at times since V7 and never knew this. thnx
