Not a bug so much as a poorly-designed tool. Whoever built it probably just didn't consider your use case. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to fix.
Open the group up, and in each of the Directional Blur nodes, switch to the Common Controls tab and check the Alpha switch.
If that softens the edges of the text too much, you can counteract it by restoring the original solid alpha underneath the blurred one. Right after the Chromatic Aberration group, add a Channel Booleans node. Set the Operation to 'Maximum,' and set Red, Green and Blue to 'Do Nothing.' Connect your Text+ to the Foreground of the Channel Booleans. You can adjust the strength of the alpha correction with the Blend control of the Channel Booleans.
