No Audio on Steinberg UR22

PostTue Jul 10, 2018 5:31 pm

Hello Forum, I'm a new User here from Germany needing some help.

I was using Resolve 12.5 for over one year now and it worked fine, just my CPU is a bit weak for working with UHD material but that aside it worked fine.
Today I wanted to try a new version as a colleague started using Resolve 14.

So I downloaded and installed the public beta (precisely version 15.0.0B.065).

Here is my issue: I have no audio on my Steinberg (Yamaha) UR22 interface. It worked fine with Resolve 12.5 but now there is nothing. In the preferences I tried using every combination of using system settings, manual, assigning the two channels, but there is no audio coming through.
However using the output over HDMI to my monitor works and using the mainboard audio (I had to install the drivers just to test it I never used this output before).

As you can see in the screenshot VU meters are dancing but in the mixer in Windows there is no sound coming.
As I said in the preferences there is no combination working for my interface.

I hope there is help, quite frustrating I have to say, but as I saw it seems I'm not the only one with similar problems, saw a lot about Resolve 14 too but nothing seems to work for me.

OS is Windows 7 SP1 64bit

if on Mac, open up Audio Midi Config App and see what your audio hardware sample rate has been likely changed to. I run my interfaces at 96K with word clock, but R only wants to run ( for now at least ) at 48K so it sets the audio hardware to 48K blindly. then I have meters, but no actual sound out until I reset the sample rate in the Audio Midi app back to 96K. then everything works.

You, Sir, are my hero this day.
That's one thing I haven't tried yet.

So in conclusion you have to set the sample rate to 48kHz, not more, not less.

Thank you! :!:

you;re welcome. its my several times a day misery to reset the hardware back to 96K - its happy to be fed 48K from resolve. the entire rest of my studio is set up around 96K BTW, word clock locked and stable. Which is why I filed a bug on R that is should not mess with the sample rate of the user's hardware.
