The new firmware is fine. We got 1 user report of a problem, but we tested 3 or 4 that we have in house for extended periods of time and have not seen the same issue reported (again it was only one customer).
So new firmware should be good.
It is worth noting. We use several Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt adapters for connection to computers. These particular drives (at least using 009 firmware) seem to get bricked if plugged into the GoFlex TB adapter. We haven't tested the newest firmware on the GoFlex TB yet as we didn't want to change bricking them again.
As for the Data Rates, or how many GB/hour. It will depend on the codec and resolution.
But ProRes is around 220Mb/second. or ~27.5MB/second
27.5MB/second *60 = 1650 MB/minute or 1.65GB/minute (using base 10) *60 =99GB/hour
Uncompressed 1080p23.98 10bit = 132.5 MB/second
132.5MB/second *60 = 478GB/hour
So those are two, there are tools online that can show you the data rates for any particular format or codec. I'm not gonna post them all. Of course if there is a specific one, let me know and I'll calculate it up for you.
