intel 8700k vs ryzen 2700x for resolve?

I've seen it suggested that the Ryzen CPU would be better for davinci resolve, but I am finding it hard to find actual evidence of that. Most comparisons seem to be done with gaming in mind. There are a few focused on premiere or after effects (which the intel chip seemed to be better for), but not much data about performance in resolve.
I was wondering what people here think? Which cpu would be better for a new build for resolve ?

I have no experience of the Ryzen but the 8700 works pretty well for me and has the advantage that on tasks which are CPU-bound using only a few threads, the faster clock-speed produces some small benefits.

I'm also happy with the 8700 because it has QSV which lets me do some nifty (and very fast) transcoding to H265/HVEC with Handbrake when it is necessary.
