Pocket 4K battery life?

Anyone have numbers on battery life with the LP-E6 and Pocket 4K?

Information out there seems to be a consensus at 60 minutes, but 45 minutes when using the usb-c port (for example for an external ssd). If you need something longer, might want to look into the Core SWX Powerbase EDGE Battery for Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K B&H #COPBEBMPC. I already ordered and received mine.

BM is saying 60min on the average.

Watch any of the NAB coverage of the camera - pretty much all the reps say an hour. You can find them on YouTube (it might even be in the original announcement).

Yes, yes it was, and agin in Grants interview at NAB. But battery ,I’ve depends on many factors, turning the camera off and on, will deplete the battery sooner, the codec you are shooting and amount of in-camera processing used will also determine final battery run time.

One thing I like about the camera is that it can easily plug into wall power. I currently use fixed lens video cameras when I multi-cam shoot events and performances.

The BMPCC4K won't easily take larger batteries like something like a Sony x70, but as long as I have an outlet I'd rather have the pocket cinema camera since it is more of an all-purpose camera that has more uses than just recording events.

I'm not sure if we got any info about overheating and standby mode for the new camera, but hopefully, I will be able to start replacing my fixed lens video cameras with the Pocket Cinema camera soon. Even If I need to buy a new Micro 4/3 lens for each Blackmagic camera, it would still be cheaper than getting even the low-end pro(ish) AX700 from Sony.

Mr Hotter, are you are filming in HD, you could use the Micro Cinema camera, as it can also be externally powered. Another power option for both is to use large 12-VDC batteries suspended from the tripod as a weight, or placed on the floor and connect them to the camera for a 4 to 6 hour run time.
