Timecode issue

PostSun Oct 07, 2018 8:02 am

Recorded a sequence using both internal camera (Sony A7sii) sound with timecode recorded to track 2 from a Tentacle sync unit. At the same time recorded sound from a different mike attached to a Zoom F10 locked to the same timecode.

When autosyncing these tracks in DR15 the sync between the sound tracks is off by 12 frames, regardless if I autosync using timecode or wavepattern.

In the attached screenshot it looks as if the 2 soundtracks are out of sync by 12 frames but track 2 has to be manually offset by 12 frames for the playback to be in sync. Audio 1 is the sound recorded to the A7sii and Audio 2 is the sound recorded by the Zoom F10

Any suggestions anyone as to whats causing this bizarre effect?

Often DSLRs’ video tracks are slightly out of sync with their own internal audio tracks. LTC into the audio track is OK, but with a DSLR, LTC can’t really be trusted without a slate.
